Oct 22, 2003 · There's 30 years of chassis design and development here we can tap into. I've never had a mk1, and have always found it laughable they never had a subframe. Easily fixed with a lower strut brace. What I'm basically looking for is the inherent reasons as to why VW would change the design so much.
