There can be three different types of Awards at REC Foundation-qualified competitions: Performance Awards: Based on robot performance on the competition field in match play (Tournament/Teamwork Champion, Finalist/Second Place, etc.) and Skills Challenges (Robot Skills Champion, Robot Skills Second Place, etc.).

Aug 16, 2019 · Several VRC and VEX U awards have been eliminated because they were underused or redundant: Cooperate Award, Educate Award, Future Award, and Teamwork Award. The judging process for Design Award and Excellence Award has been clarified.

Qualifying Award – An award that will qualify a team to a higher level of competition, such as an Event Region Championship or the VEX Robotics World Championship. The precedence of Qualifying Awards is listed in the REC Foundation Qualifying Criteria document.

• For large events that offer one or more Technical Awards or Other Judged Awards, use the VEX Awards Scoring and Ranking Sheet to evaluate your discussions with teams. • Conduct student interviews and discussions with teams in the Team Pit Area.

These updates will include the addition of qualification to the Live Remote Tournament World Championship along with changes to VEX Worlds spot allocations and add more spots to the award table if necessary.
