I'm assuming the tune at the ECU is different, and of course the flywheel and everything after that, but what is mechanically different about the engine itself? are the camshafts different? are the crankshafts different??

I was thinking of using stroker pistons and getting a little longer rod length to improve side load geometry. That'll make it easier to turn a few more revs with out the concern of throwing a rod. Jul 24, 2008 · It must also copmply with Certain Automotive design rules and pass engineering for registration etc. R&D is a frustrating journey as I am getting it ready for a market, not a one off. I have an APS TT setup as well so there is also a bit of work there to get the turbos to become a drop in system (APS don't make a TT setup for the AWD VQ35DE.)

Mar 17, 2014 · IIRC, it will usually read low when cold or idling. Give it time to warm up. Look for leaks, too. Might want to look at the ground and see if there's any oil or take it to a mechanic and put the car on a lift so you can inspect the engine from underneath.

Aug 22, 2010 · No, the Rev-Up and HR versions of the VQ35 are improvements that Nissan made to the engine as time went on. More or less, the regular VQ35DE was in the 03-05s (287 HP), the VQ35DE Rev-Up (300 HP) was in the 6MT '06s, and the VQ35HR (306 HP) was in all of the '07+ cars.
