Mar 25, 2016 · V6 muscle cars are great because they boost sales and are what keep the V8 models around. If Mustangs, Camaros, and Challengers were only offered with V8s, they'd go out of production. The V6 models are what make them more affordable to the general public and are what keep sales high.

I'll throw the Genesis Coupe V6 in there for a NA example - 348 horsepower is pretty solid. Also, the Muscle car V6 Trims aren't as slow as people love to scoff at - it's just that they aren't as muscle-y as one thinks a muscle car should be. But the Camaro / Mustang V6 are more than capable. If we are talking about FI then there's more options.

Owned a 2012 v6 and 2014 V8 charger both were RWD. V8 in city driving is just poor, only was getting 13 to 16mpg city and 17 to 21 Highway. V6 charger I was able to get 20 to 22 city and 25 to 28 highway. Only thing that also made my 2012 better was that the v6 in that model came with the ZF 8 spd and the v8 only came with 5 speed auto.

While "sporty" cars vary, sports cars (the muscle cars you mention, the Miata, Corvette, Elise/Exige, etc., etc.) are often RWD, rear-biased AWD, or AWD that's capable of sending power to different wheels extremely dynamically. These drivetrains are better for sporty driving.

Sep 13, 2023 · Have an Accord v6 and the J35 is dead reliable and a great engine overall, especially the VTEC variants. In any case pay attention to the recommended fuel for each engine. The Honda, and I assume the Camry recommend regular. However some v6 engines including some of the older Acuras may recommend higher octane for various reasons.

Jul 1, 2022 · Smaller cars, even quick ones, more typically have 4 cylinders. If you want something where it's reasonably cost-effective to add power, a turbo 4 will usually serve you better than a v6. Turbo engines can often have significant power added just by a tune.

Back in the day a v6 was a bit worthless for power in everyday cars. Now you got v6 cars making over 300 horsepower. 300 horsepower is more than enough for, like 95% of people. With all the bells and whistles that come on modern cars, 300 ponies don't feel like nothin.
