Jun 27, 2022 · So the real queston is ”Can usb 3.x use egpu?” to which the answer is: no. Now, the usb4 spec (which also uses usb-c) contains pcie encapsulation as an optional feature. So - if you have a usb4 you might be able to use a eGPU if it has that feature added (sometimes called thunderbolt capable usb4). They are not very common yet though.
