The symbol of the Učka Nature Park is the stone tower built in 1911 on the Vojak peak, the highest peak of the mountain and the whole Istrian peninsula. The area of Učka and a part of Ćićarija are protected as nature park since 1999. The Poklon Visitor Centre is the new prime destination for all future visitors to the Učka Nature Park.

Učka Nature Park is located on the eastern coast of the Istrian peninsula and connects Istria with Kvarner Bay. This oasis of biodiversity was declared a nature park in 1999 and encompasses the eponymous mountain and the Ćićarija plateau, covering 160 square kilometres.

The Učka Nature Park includes the homonymous mountain and a part of the hilly plateau Ćićarija, and is located along the north Adriatic coast on one of the northest points of the Mediterranean, connecting the Istrian peninsula and the continental part of Croatia.

Mount Učka rises along the coast of the northern Adriatic. The closeness of the sea has resulted in a specific climate and lush forest vegetation, with many rare and protected plant and animal species. The peak of Vojak features a stone tower, which has become a recognisable landmark.

Rich meadow and other anthropological habitats of Učka hide numerous endemic, endangered and protected plant and animal species. The endemic Učka bellflower has been preserved on the park area. Some rare birds can also be seen such as the griffon vulture and golden eagle.

Učka Nature Park covers an area of 160 square kilometers. For those who want to enjoy the beauty of the mountains, we recommend climbing the highest peak of Učka - Vojak (1401 m). There is a tower from which a clear day offers a fantastic panoramic view.

The area of Učka is designated as a nature park (park prirode) in Croatia. Historically, the Istro-Romanians, a Romance ethnic group of Istria, have been separated by the mountain range, forming two areas of concentration: one in the village of Žejane and one in the village of Šušnjevica and the surrounding settlements.
