After their infamous winless 0-16 campaign of 2008, the Lions decided to put that season behind them by refreshing their logo to make it look fiercer; the lion now has eyes and looks more detailed than the 1961 logo. Black was retained as an accent color.

Feb 1, 2017 · The Detroit Lions logo, in use since the 2017 NFL season, shows a Honolulu Blue-coloured lion from the side, pouncing, with white and silver outlines around it. The lion is shown with a white eye, mouth, and a mane.
