Jul 29, 2020 · Essentially I'm considering buying the UDM Pro and I don't know if I could save buying a standalone NAS (e.g: synology) or the UDM can already work as such. I don't really have very special needs, just backups and networks storage for fotos and videos.

Except for the CloudKey+ and Cloud Gateways with M.2 storage, all UniFi consoles support hot-swapping drives, meaning you can simply take out and replace the disk without powering off your UniFi console.

Sep 13, 2022 · As I understand the HDD in the UDM-Pro can be used for logs, voicemail for talk, and other general purpose storage when you expand to a UNVR. It is highly recommended that you connect the UNVR and UDM via an SFP port if you are pushing more than a few cameras.

We recommend using UniFi HDDs (8TB) with the UniFi Protect Network Video Recorder (UNVR) and the UniFi Dream Machine Pro (UDM-Pro). For the Cloud Key Gen2 Plus (UCK Gen2 Plus), we've tested and verified the Toshiba 2.5" 5400RPM 1TB HDD (MQ01ABD100V).

Jan 18, 2021 · Recently I have upgraded from Cloud Key Gne 2 Plus to UDM Pro (Unifi Dream Machine Pro) because of storage capacity limitations with Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus, with 15 G3 Flex Cameras. The Cloud Key Gen 2 Plus is great investment for small environment with limited cameras. It’s got a 1TB hard drive built in with Unifi Protect controller built in.
