Every winter Breckenridge hosts its annual Ullr Festival, which celebrates snow and tradition mixed with a lot of wild fun. Come out for this event in downtown Breck, it’s one of Colorado’s most unique winter events.

Ullr! Bust out your Viking helmets, grab your finest furs (faux encouraged!), and get ready to give your praise and offerings to the man, the myth, the main character, the Norse God of Snow, Ullr (pronounced like “Cooler’).

During Ullr Fest, local bars and restaurants enjoy offering games and specials to draw in the crowds, and there are numerous fun events all week. There are curling events, the crowning of the King and Queen of Ullr, an ice-skating party at the indoor arena, and more.

UllrGrass is a bluegrass music and beer festival held in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Golden, CO during the last week in January. Ullrgrass is also a celebration of winter, as embodied by ULLR, the Norse God of Winter and the Patron Saint of Skiers.
