Please help identify a USN carrier-based tow tractor
Jul 12, 2008 · In those days the Navy started with Willys MB jeeps, Ford BNO-25/BNO-40 and Clark CT-40 tractors for that role. Since then, various models of aircraft tow tractors/tugs are in constant use on carrier decks.

Jul 14, 2008 · Fred,the brckt should be snug to the bolster before you tighten. For what ever reason,maybe welding drawed it that much,you need to use spacers or cut the weld. I would use some 5/8 USS washers and maybe lock tight. Yes,the nuts that Ford recommend were the same as the rear wheel. Remove one and try it. Good luck.

Sad news - the Tractor world has lost Bruce(VA)
Feb 17, 2025 · Ran into a retired co-worker this afternoon that I hadn't seen in years. He happens to live next door to Bruce Haynes - aka "Bruce(VA)" from Old Church, VA - many on this forum know Bruce from his generous assistance over the years with Ford 8N's. I was sorry to hear that Bruce just passed away (the last day or so).

Mar 16, 2025 · Looking at a 7600 with the high/low 8 speed (16 total). Comes with loader plus spear, pallet forks, and grapple. New hydraulic pump and loader cylinders rebuilt a year ago. Your input on these machines and their loader capabilities is greatly appreciated.
