Insignia and badges of the United States Marine Corps are military "badges" issued by the United States Department of the Navy to Marines who achieve certain qualifications and accomplishments while serving on active or reserve duty in the United States Marine Corps.

United States Marine Corps Rifle Qualification Badge. Criteria: Marine Corps rifle weapons qualification badges are obtained after obtaining a passing score, which fall into one of three ranges - 250 - 279 for Marksman, 280 - 304 for Sharpshooter, and 305 - 350 for Expert.

The U.S. Marine Corps award two types of Marine Corps Marksmanship Qualification Badges, one for the service rifle and one for the service pistol, to all Marines who qualify at three different qualification levels (highest to lowest): expert, sharpshooter, and marksman.

Marine Corps Qualification Badge: Rifle Expert. Earned with a score of 40 (220) or higher.

Marines who qualify as Experts with either their service rifle or pistol have the opportunity to earn a Requalification Bar to be attached to their Rifle Expert or Pistol Expert Badge. Because the Expert Badge is awarded for the first qualification, the first Requalification Bar a Marine earns is labeled “2nd Award.”

On Qual Day all recruits are trying to shoot their best and are striving for the coveted "Crossed Rifles" of the Rifle Expert badge. Recruits can also earn the Rifle Sharpshooter and Rifle Marksman badges. To move on in training recruits will need to qualify on Table I and Table II.
