Sep 30, 2019 · All USB ports provide power to a device, USB 3 ports more than USB 2 ports. I haven't had to deal with a charging port yet so can't say much except to check the instructions as to how much, some devices may need as much as 2.1 or 2.5 Amps for charging like a FitBit, phones and tablets, etc.
Windows can't recognize external HDD on USB-C port
Dec 8, 2020 · I am having an external HDD with USBC - micro-B cable. The specs document of XPS 9560 shows that the USB-C port supports thunderbolt and USB3.0. However, my laptop can't recognize the drive if the drive isn't connected when Windows is booting. To get it recognized, I have to keep plugging it, and restart computer. After that, things work normal.
