"Passive USB hub" is a misnomer. (An active USB extension cable is actually a single-port hub, or more likely a multi-port hub with only one downstream port used.)

Nov 28, 2016 · I have a TP-Link USB 3.0 4-Port Hub (UH400) and a Delock USB 3.0 cable, something similar to this, but only 1m long. They both work properly at least I tested both with an USB 3.0 Kingston pendrive. The results for Windows 7 are in the following list. (I can test them with Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Ubuntu 16.04 too if necessary.)

So I do not know if the Hub is amplifying the signals for a 3 meter range (as a USB 3.0 application would require) or for a 5 meter range ( as for a USB 2.0 application ). The Hub is backward compatible. So I think ideally it should solve my issue, but I cannot understand why it isnt

Going to wait until I can grab another powered hub to try changing it to PC-->Extension-->Powered Hub-->Camera , you think that will make the difference? –
