Jan 6, 2021 · While I’ve compared dry aged meat from the store and umai dry age I’ve done in the past, I’ve never actually compared two dry aged steaks like this that were in the exact same conditions and were from the same cow. I plan on aging them for 45 days, the one in the umai bag was just under 6lbs and the open air one was just over 6.
Question: Should UMAi dry aging bags smell during dry aging?
Feb 21, 2021 · Hello all, this is my first time dry aging. I used UMAi Dry Aging Bags for this on a 5lb “American Wagyu” boneless ribeye from Snake River Farms. Yes I know that’s a smaller cut of meat than should normally be used. Anyways, it has been exactly 14 days since starting. I have a very good seal on the bag and have almost all the air out of it.

Umai bags are more of a membrane than a bag. They still allow air and moisture through but the results may not be as good as a dedicated dry aging space. Umai bags are definitely the way to go if you wanna experiment with dry aging without breaking the bank.

Dec 26, 2020 · The longer the age, the less seasoning it needs (exponentially in fact). I do mix it up with my family every now and then though as we eat a lot of dry aged steak. We make up homemade pesto and add feta cheese crumbles as well. It’s pure heaven! (Some people would say that’s a waste with dry age but not with how much of it I make a year lol).
Are the Umai bags shitty, or is there something wrong?
Jan 12, 2021 · Recently I ordered a pack of Umai dry age bags and today I attempted to use them. I looked up videos online and read the manual that comes with them. When I try to vacuum and seal them, at first they look okay, but after a few seconds the air comes back in and I can see holes next to the sealing line.
