GE U30C - Wikipedia
The GE U30C is a six-axle locomotive built by General Electric from 1966 to 1976. With 600 units sold, the U30C proved to be a viable alternative for customers who were unable to purchase SD40s from Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD) due to production backlog.

The Espee's U30C's were delivered in two lots, the first 7900-7929 in 1968 being Phase II's, and the last 7930-7936 delivered in 1969 being Phase III's. The trucks were interchangable, so it was possible to see a U30C with a different truck at each end... The remaining U30C's were traded to GE for B36-7's in 1984.

GE U30C - Bridge Line Historical Society
Most, if not all, of the U30Cs were retrofitted with Gyralites by the D&H. The electrical prints for the U30Cs were modified with the Gyralite in 1971, and the modifications were carried out on through late 1974 and early 1975. Since the U30Cs were ready for major overhauls during this period, they received the lights. All went to NdeM in 1978.
