The DShK M1938 (Cyrillic: ДШК, for Russian: Дегтярёва-Шпагина крупнокалиберный, romanized: Degtyaryova-Shpagina krupnokaliberny, lit. 'Degtyaryov–Shpagin large-calibre') is a Soviet heavy machine gun. The weapon may be vehicle mounted or used on a tripod or wheeled carriage as a heavy infantry machine gun.

Chinese soldiers firing 12.7mm Type 54 HMG, a copy of Soviet DshKM. During the mid-1970s it was decided to develop a lighter 12.7mm weapon, suitable for mobile AA applications, from ground and vehicle mounts, as well as for ground troop support.

It fires 12.7×108mm rounds from belts and is more accurate than the Type 54 heavy machine gun, but the thinner barrel overheats faster. In trials, the W85 lost out to the Type 85 as an infantry weapon and was not accepted into PLA service for this role.
