Mounted where the stock carb was. • Garret T3 turbo from a 4 cylinder Saab, Exhaust is .48, intake is .42. Acquired at U-pull-it for $30 with a cracked turbine housing and blown oil seals.

Apr 1, 2018 · 2.2 liter Pre 1995 OBD1 tends to be the more popular swap. The reliability of the 2.2 is slightly better than the 2.5 due to head gasket issues on early models. The OBD 1 wiring system is slightly easier to work with. But the biggest benefit is that it fits well within the engine compartment of the vw bug with little to no cutting.

Jun 1, 2013 · The size of Turbo needed will depend on the size of the engine. For a stock 1600cc engine there is a small one barrell carb that can be used. That was my first Turbo engine and still have that carb and some exhaust plumbing. It was great for a 1st timer and did show some extra power for street usage.
