The Turán tanks were a series of Hungarian medium tanks of World War II. They were produced in two main variants: the original 40M Turán (or Turán I ) with a 40 mm gun and later the 41M Turán (or Turán II ) with a short-barreled 75 mm gun, improved armour and a new turret.

Mar 20, 2021 · Before the Turán I entered service, it was clear that the main armament of the tank would need to be improved in order for the vehicle to stand any chance in combat against a modern tank. As such, work was done to replace the feeble 40 mm gun with a larger 75 mm gun.

The 43M Turán III or 44M Turán III was a Hungarian medium tank of World War II. It was based on the 41M Turán II medium tank but was equipped with a significantly larger turret and a much more powerful long-barreled 75 mm gun.

For a brief time these German machines fought alongside a Hungarian-built tank—the Turan. Though built by Hungary, the Turan was based on the Škoda T-21 medium tank prototype from the former Czechoslovakia.

The Turán was a 1939 Hungarian medium tank based on the Czech LT vz.35 tank. About 424 were built and saw action on the Eastern Front.

Named Turan I, it was a 16-ton medium tank with a five-man crew and mounted a 40 mm Skoda gun in a large refitted turret (with square cupola). Turan was built by the Weiss&Cspel Steelworks of Budapest and was powered by 260hp Hungarian made engine.
