Huy Tuan Pham earned a doctorate in mathematics from Stanford and was named a Clay Research Fellow in 2023. His research focuses on combinatorics and probability, in particular the analysis of large networks and random networks. His work has applications in fields such as number theory, theoretical computer science, and machine learning.

Our first feature is Huy Tuan Pham, a Two Sigma Fellow and doctoral student at Stanford’s Mathematics department. We spoke with Huy about how the Two Sigma Fellowship has supported his doctorate journey and his exciting achievement of proving a major open problem in probabilistic combinatorics: the Kahn-Kalai conjecture.

Huy Tuan Pham will receive his PhD in 2023 from Stanford University, where he is advised by Jacob Fox. Pham is a highly inventive and prolific researcher who has already made fundamental contributions to combinatorics, probability, number theory, and theoretical computer science.

Huy Tuan Pham’s main research interest is in probabilistic and extremal combinatorics, and related applications in probability theory, additive combinatorics and theoretical computer science. His recent focus includes the study of thresholds and other high-dimensional phenomena and their connections.
