Feb 17, 2022 · TL;DR: Open Hand Tsumo is not a Yaku (Win Condition) but closed hand Tsumo (Menzen Tsumo) is. Richi can only be done with closed hand. But if you do not have a valid Yaku in hand, Richi enables you to "Ron" from others, if they drop the winning tile. Just be mindful of "Furiten", when calling Richi.

Worth 1 Han, but only if you have a closed hand. Feb 22, 2021 · Tsumo: this one is pretty simple: all it is is finishing the requirement of making 4 sets of 3 and a pair by drawing every single tile in your hand, or in other words, finishing a hand without stealing any tiles from opponents. That means that if your hand becomes exposed by calling chi, pon, or an exposed kan, you cannot get this yaku.
