To celebrate the Urdd's centenary, the youth organisation placed a full-sized statue of Mr Urdd sitting on a park bench on Snowdon, next to the picturesque Llyn Llydaw.

Jul 14, 2022 · The Urdd has placed a full-sized statue of Mistar Urdd sitting on a park bench on Wales’ highest mountain, yr Wyddfa. The statue next to the picturesque Llyn Llydaw has been placed as part of the Urdd’s centenary celebrations.

Wales’s largest national youth movement, Urdd Gobaith Cymru, is celebrating its centenary in 2022, and today (25 November), it is announcing some of its plans for an exciting year of celebrations to mark this milestone in its history.

Mistar Urdd follows in James Bond’s and Lara Croft’s footsteps. Today, as part of its centenary celebrations, the Urdd has placed a full-sized statue of Mistar Urdd sitting on a park bench on Yr Wyddfa, next to the picturesque Llyn Llydaw.

Hundreds of children gathered for party celebratio­ns on the second day of this year’s Urdd Eisteddfod Maes while a parade made its way across the Maes to mark the occasion.
