May 26, 2010 · Should they be facing up, or down? I generally see people having them facing up (with cutting head on) and that is how I have run them when I've used a torch, but that sure doesn's leave much room for my big hand.

Apr 28, 2018 · It is extremely difficult to try to use the torch in an upright position for cooking. Practically speaking, you can tilt the torch down about 60degrees. Beyond that, it will tend to either cut off or flare. However, tilting it down that far is good enough for most purposes.

Jan 10, 2019 · The torch hisses and there’s a very small flame for a second or two on the max setting. You have it turned up too high and there's too much butane for it to light. Fire needs fuel and oxygen, too much butane displaces the oxygen and you won't get a flame at all.
