Sep 27, 2014 · I'm planning on building a Togetic/kiss for Doubles, using Follow Me, Roost, Air Slash and Tailwind. Would an Evi Togetic be more viable for this than a Togekiss, and what item should I go with Togekiss if that is more viable?

May 22, 2011 · For being able to evolve into Togekiss has allowed Togetic to use the new item Eviolite, which boosts both of it's defenses by 50%. This gives Togetic defenses superior to its evolution (which was no slouch defensively anyway).

I'm going to max out the Def and SpDef IVs for the Togetic, should I make a serious effort for high HP, too? Should I use a Pro Def or Pro SpDef nature?

Togetic stands out as a stupendous Special Sweeper in double battles. This strategy is built to overwhelm foes with overwhelming special moves. Togetic is not a Pokemon anyone usually expects sees on the battlefield without an Eviolite.

Togetic may have slightly higher bulk, but kiss has that constant recovery: Knock off eviolite, and tic isn't as bulky. Knock off lefties, and kiss only loses the small HP heal each turn.

Togetic is actually a very usable Pokémon now, all thanks to Eviolite. As standard, Togetic's defenses are pretty decent, with 85/105, but thanks to the Eviolite boosting both by 50%, they are an utter beast which allows you to use Togetic in ways Togekiss cannot be used.
