Titsey Place is an English country house near Oxted in Surrey, England. It was successively the seat of the Gresham and Leveson-Gower families and is now preserved by a charitable trust for the nation.

Titsey is a rural village and a civil parish on the North Downs almost wholly within the M25 London Orbital Motorway in the Tandridge District of Surrey, England.

Titsey Place in Oxted, Surrey is an impressive manor house with beautiful gardens set in the stunning countryside of the North Downs. The House and Gardens are held in Charitable Trust and for part of the year are open to the public offering: Guided tours of the house which dates back to the 16th century.

Titsey is one of the largest surviving historic estates in Surrey. It dates back to the mid 16th century, though the first impression now is of a comfortable early 19th century house in a picturesque park, lying under the North Downs which hereabout rise to over 270ms.

Situated on a main road that leads from London to the southern coast, Titsey, now just a tiny village, used to be a large bustling settlement during the 500 years the Romans occupied Britain, some two thousand years ago.

Dec 5, 2021 · Welcome along to another one of my trips outside London – where this time I’ll be exploring Titsey Place and Gardens in Oxted, Surrey. The quintessentially English country house is known for being the home of the Gresham and Leveson-Gower families.

Titsey Place has mid-19th century gardens surrounding a country house. The gardens are set in parkland of 125 hectares. Features include a rose garden, a roofless stone dovecote, the Head Gardener's house and two kitchen gardens. The park falls gently away to the south.

Although technically outside the Limpsfield Parish Boundary, Titsey Place has traditionally been the home of the Lords of the Manor of Limpsfield (first the Gresham family and latterly the Leveson-Gowers) for several centuries. It is one of the largest surviving historic estates in Surrey.
