I think the closest MX-style switches to Topre switches in terms of sound would be silenced ones. The rubber damping pads cut a lot of the sharper 'clack' sound out from keypresses, leaving you with a deeper and duller sound which is closer to the 'thock' of Topre.

May 27, 2021 · Thonk blew my mind. I was waiting for them to restock the enclosure for the FSS Brunswick and signed up for an email notification. I didn’t hear anything for a few months, so I reached out just for the hell of it. I got a response the same day with an offer to sell me the demo because it was all they had or would have for a while due to COVID.

"The issue I was trying to raise with the original concept was that Discord themselves don't inherently decide what is and what isn't an emoji within their service- In theory, sure, they could, but they're just following the same guidelines as the rest of the world, which is the entire reason the Unicode Consortium exists.

Dec 12, 2023 · Thonk tool on the left, business end of the Xircon on the left. Center post on the Thonk tool is fatter, and the tabs for the slots in the knurled nuts is thinner. Thinner tabs are good as the Xircon tool doesn’t always mate well with some cheaper nuts.

There are a lot of factors that contribute to the thock sound. Gat inks V2s (black) are definitly the best switch for achieving this and probably with a plastic switchplate like PC/Acrylic/POM.
