Excellent vibrant and friendly community pub dating from 1902, reopened in February 2022 after being under threat of redevelopment and a rare outlet for real ale in Tranent. The high ceiling gives it an airy feel and there is also an attractive three-bay gantry.

The campaign to save the historic pub began months ago with the creation of a Facebook page to gather regulars in an effort to save the watering hole, which new manager Dominic said “we really hoped would happen but didn’t expect to”.
