It could be either mushroom flavored light soy sauce, which is a just a variant of normal light. Or it could be the vegetarian version of oyster sauce. I have never seen a thai recipe specifically ask for a mushroom sauce though, where are you seeing this?

It’s an olive oil/garlic base, mozz, seasoned red potatoes, bacon, carmelized onions, bacon, cheddar. Once it’s baked it’s garnished with chives, sour cream, and spicy ranch (literally just ranch mixed with mild buffalo sauce).

Aug 17, 2021 · Be sure to use proper Thai soy, oyster, and fish sauces. I like Maekrua oyster sauce and Healthy Boy white/thin soy sauce. Fish sauce comes down to personal preference. Real krapao basil (aka Thai Holy basil) is the other big difference maker as commonly available genovese basil is very different. Thai sweet basil is closer but still not right.

For a cup of liquid mushroom essential flavor bring just over a cup of water to a boil and drop in about 7 inches (cap size) of dried mushrooms. Leave to soak about 20 minutes if you plan to include the mushrooms in the sauce or as long as you like if you will discard them.
