Car license plates from Thailand since 1997 use American-sized plates, in black characters on a white background. Thai license plates have two Thai letters identifying the vehicle type, followed by four digits, and the name of the province in Thai at the bottom.

(A) Officially issued plates have an official stamp at bottom right and a laser etched nine digit number at bottom left. (B) Fake plates do not have the seal and number. Note that some, possibly many, of the optional plates shown on the panels below may be fakes or samples.
