Sep 3, 2016 · If you actually want prettier text than Cleartype though, then there is a workaround in Paint: Make your text (and/or entire bitmap) twice the size you need in each direction (4 times the number of pixels). Create your text and any other artwork. Choose the "Resize" function, reduce both direction by 50%.

Had the same problem - I had used the monitor over DVI for a year or so when I got a new video card and wanted to switch to HDMI. Suddenly text looked like garbage. The solution - go into "setup" and turn on power-saving. You'll notice the image gets darker, several of the HDMI options will be greyed out, but the text is crystal clear again.

Aug 2, 2015 · I've searched through the web and I found this great tool that fixed the blurry text that I had after changing my scale to 125% in Windows 10. Simply download the file from the following page, run it and and choose the Windows 8.1 DPI scaling option and the required scaling level and then restart your computer/laptop.

Mar 6, 2022 · Note that this text itself is pixelated, but that's because of the image's resolution, leaving only 8 pixels for the text height. So, you want MSPaint to render text using ClearType. I've tested on my machine's MSPaint (using Times New Roman), and it does apply ClearType. I believe MSPaint uses your display's ClearType settings to render text.
