These are massive, spherical sponges with a radially symmetrical skeleton. Most are relatively small. This is probably T. norvegica, but positive identification is difficult from picture alone. The differences between T. norvegica and some of the other members in this family are microscopic. The diameter of T. norvegica does not exceed 7 cm.
