Oct 2, 2022 · If "tri-quarterly" means anything, surely it would be every third quarter (every nine months). Or possibly three times a quarter, which is monthly. You can't redefine a quarter as a third, though.

The preferred words are “four months,” “quadrimester,” and “tri-annually.” “Four months” is the most common one to use, and you’ll find that a lot of native speakers stick to this without overcomplicating anything.

Trimester does not seem correct as it seems to refer to a period of three months (one third of a pregnancy or one third of an academic year).

February is the only month that is 28 days long in common years and 29 days long in leap years. Our current Gregorian calendar and its predecessor, the Julian calendar, both have 12 months.

From other European languages, I’d assume sextal, but the OED only lists ‘base 6’ as a meaning of that word (like ‘octal’) and it’s not quartal (or tertial and quintal) in English but quarter – alas, sexter seems just wrong.
