The Metalex MTX Tatra V8 (also known as the Metalex MTX V8 GT 3900 in Western Europe) was a super-sports car produced by MTX in cooperation with Tatra in 1991. It was designed by Czech automobile designer Václav Král and was the fastest Czech car of that time.

The Tatra MTX was designed as a thoroughbred circuit special. But a way was found to homologate it for road use. However, thanks to its massive tubular frame, functionalist interior, and the absence of assists or emissions necessities, it is still more true to its original purpose.

Tatra MTX V8. The Tatra MTX V8 was the fastest Czech car of all time. Production started in 1991 in Kopřivnice. It has a Tatra 623 V8 engine with inlet manifold injection producing 225 kW at 6500 rpm. It accelerates from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.6 seconds. The top speed is 265 kilometres per hour (165 mph).

In the 1990s, the company made MTX Roadster (based on Škoda Favorit) and MTX Cabrio (based on Škoda Felicia). Super-sport model named MTX Tatra V8 was made in 1991. Racing cars from Metalex won 14 international titles and almost 100 titles of national champions.

Tatra MTX byla navržená jako čistokrevný okruhový speciál. Našla se ale cesta, jak ji homologovat pro silniční provoz. Díky masivnímu trubkovému rámu, funkcionalistickému interiéru, nepřítomností asistentů či emisních nutností, je však stále více věrná svému původnímu účelu.
