Tarptent Moment DW Review (2019 Version) - Backpacking Light
Apr 11, 2020 · This is the tent I’m going to buy when I grow up. Karen says: “I think my dream tent might be a DCF Moment in camo.” Yea, I hear you, but something that I think would boost Tarptent’s bottom line even more is if they offered a green silnylon option. I realize TT is already very popular in Europe, but the market there has more of an ...

Jun 6, 2017 · Typically, my tarp weighs 17oz, including stakes and guy lines. Soo, for less than 20oz, I am set. The few times I need a bug tent, I have a smaller tarp for it, again something I made up, and both go about 24oz total: Screen tent:16oz and tarp, 8oz.

Poll: Tarp/Bivy vs. Tent - Backpacking Light
Aug 11, 2008 · Which do you use and why? A Tarp with or with out a bivy or a tent. Advantages of tarp/bivy – Flexibility, weight, views. Tarptent Notch Li Review (Updated: V2 2020 Version)
Apr 18, 2020 · With an inner tent width at its maximum of 34 inches (at the mid-point of the inner tent) and at its minimum of 20 inches (at the ends of the inner tent), the claim that a wide (e.g., 25 inch) sleeping pad will “fit” is a little dubious. Dec 15, 2011 · Having used both a tarp and a tent on the PCT, I agree that this is a preference issue. This might sound strange, but I found that ended up fiddling a lot more wiht a tarp setup than I ever did with a tent, especially in higher winds. But that's me.
Tarptent Protrail Li - Almost A Perfect Tent - Backpacking Light
Jun 21, 2021 · But with a practice of twist and turn couple of time, I’m ok with that. The tent uses thin DCF fabric on the tent body, which makes the sun super bright when shining to the tent. I was once crashing in the tent when the sun is right on the overhead. The temperature inside the tent is somewhere about 10-15 degrees hotter than outside for sure!
Input on MYOG tarp/tent design? - Backpacking Light
May 1, 2011 · I'm planning a MYOG tarp/tent and looking for initial feedback. The design is based *heavily* on pictures of Six Moons Designs shelters (never seen them in person)–basically, this is a Wild Oasis with the two-pole five-stake structure of the Skyscape.
