Swords changes colors depending on what breathing style they have every breathing style has it own colors like zenitsu his sword was yellow because he uses the breath of thunder. Since tanjiro uses the breath of the sun which is the original.

Jan 11, 2023 · 8/10. This is my favorite iteration of Tanjiro's sword. His katana before this always felt a bit too plain for me. So Rengoku's guard combined with the black pattern along the blade makes it feel much more distinctive.

As I said it might still be Yoriichi's sword but I don't think it was the same one as in the flashbacks unless they changed it's design when he died, The sword in Koku's flashback was the same throughout from even from the time when Yoriichi saved Koku from the demon up until the guy was an old man, even in Tanjirou's dream flashbacks the sword looked the same.

May 31, 2019 · Perhaps it has to do with some genetic thing where the technique has been performed throughout centuries and memorized within. Hence Tanjiro's sword didn't turn blue (or red) even though water breathing was taught. I don't know Giyuu's past so cannot really back up my statement, but you can see Zenitsu's sword being Yellow (Grandpa was pillar).

May 2, 2023 · The kanji character for slay on yoriichi's sword and tanjiro's new sword is the same. It's not present on any of the aged swords yoriichi type zero was holding nor on any of the sengoku period hashira's blades. If it was a coincidence or just a way to identify the swordsmith I'd expect it to be on at least one of theirs.

Oct 17, 2019 · Tanjiro has broken a lot of swords so far, 2 or three of them. For his last sword he’s using Yoriichis blade and Rengoku’s guard. Using a “legendary” or special weapon is a common trope in shonens I’m 100% certain this is going to be the sword that kills Muzan, too much significance for it to just be another sword to be broken.

I know through outside interference - I.e banging swords together, or having an insanely strong grip it turns red, but I'm just wondering about a sword turning Bright Red ...

I wouldn't call it that big a spoiler tho, since the anime already covered rengoku dying and rengoku's brother giving tanjirou the hilt. However, if the sword were to be red then yeah that's a big ass spoiler
