Aug 5, 2014 · I only ever paint with Tamiya paints. What I would suggest is to start with painting everything Flat Black. Let it set up and then move on to something like a Flat RedBrown or a Nato Brown.

Mar 16, 2008 · whats the best wy to get a burnt iron colour? I have thought about using Humbol no 11 silver and mixing a bit of brown into it, will that work?? I've used Humbrol steel metalcoat mixed with a bit of rust colour, comes up nice & gives a good metallic appearance.

Dec 24, 2011 · I've tried Xtracolor's Burnt Iron but it didn't seem convincing to me. I used to travel by train on a daily basis and noticed that the exhaust pipe had a distinct reddish tinge to it. So I tried mixing some Humbrol Matt Rust but still didn't get the desired look.

May 26, 2005 · On my afterburner cans for my 1/48 Fujimi F-14D, I've been considering using MM Metalizer "Aluminum" and touching it up with Tamiya Smoke and Clear Blue for the burnt discolorations. I'm probably going about it the wrong way.
