Taeniasis is the infection of humans with the adult tapeworm of Taenia saginata, T. solium or T. asiatica. Humans are the only definitive hosts for these three species. Eggs or gravid proglottids are passed with feces ; the eggs can survive for days to months in the environment.
First ultrastructural data on the human tapeworm Taenia asiatica …
We show, for the first time, the ultrastructure of eggs of T. asiatica by means of SEM and TEM analyses. We detected all the envelopes, namely the egg shell, vitelline layer, outer embryophoric membrane, embryophore, granular layer, basal membrane, oncospheral membrane and oncospheral tegument.

Apr 25, 2019 · Taenia solium commonly known as the pork tapeworm or the armed tapeworm. It is a flat-ribbon like tape worms that causes intestinal taeniasis. Adult worms are rarely pathogenic but the encysted larval stage (cysticercus cellulosae) of the worm caused a serious disease in human called Cysticercosis.

Mammal intestine tapeworm (Taenia sp.), SEM - Science Photo …
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Mammal intestine tapeworm (Taenia sp.). The adult has a head (scolex) with suckers and/or hooks that are used to attach to the host. Note the predominant hooks used for attachment to the intestinal wall.
SEM image of the Taenia Solium Scolex. - ResearchGate
Surface morphology of microscopically patterned PDMS samples was evaluated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) before and after the friction tests.
eggs obtained by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) techniques, as a part of a multidisciplinary study of this species in several Asian countries carried out by theTaenia asiatica Research Group (TaRG). We believe that the new data may reveal structures likely to be related to the
Coloured SEM of a tapeworm, Taenia sp. - Science Photo Library
Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a parasitic tapeworm (Taenia sp.). The scolex (head, at right) has suckers (upper right) and a crown of hooklets (top right) that the worm uses to attach itself to the inside of the intestines of its specific host.
SEM of the beef tapeworm, - Stock Image - Z165/0021
False-colour scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the head (scolex) and neck of the beef tapeworm, Taenia saginata, a parasite of the human intestine. T. saginata is the commonest tapeworm parasite in humans, varying in length from 4-10 metres.
