On the boat I race on, the tack line is led back to the cockpit and it goes through a cam cleat. When sailing in any sort of a breeze there is way too much load on the tack for it to be adjusted.

Dec 12, 2017 · It occurred to me that I already have a roller on my anchor roller. The line in the picture is a dock line for illustration purposes only. The line goes through the roller and the up to deck level. The two potential issues I see are lots of stress on the anchor roller hardware and the line potentially chafing the deck or the deck chafing the line.

The deeper you sail the further out the tack will want to be set. I highly recommend playing with your new sail, you'll love it.

May 9, 2020 · The tack line is loosened off the wind, and tightened up when sailing above a reach to get a tight luff. in 4-6 knots apparent I can sail up to 50 degrees apparent, but I have the watch the leeway. In very light winds the sail will fill, and the boat will seem to be moving, but with the B311 small keel the boat just goes sideways.
