Z table: Two-tail and One-tail - tidystat.com
Feb 2, 2025 · This post provides two-tail and one-tail z-table. For one-tail z-table, left-tail and right-tail tables are provided as well. Hypothesis testing examples are included as well.
Z TABLE – Z Table. Z Score Table. Normal Distribution Table.
To map a Z score across a Z Table, it goes without saying that the first thing you need is the Z Score itself. In the above example, we derive that Eric’s Z-score is 0.56. Once you have the Z Score, the next step is choosing between the two tables.

One-tailed test: Look for α in the negative z-table. Two-tailed test: Look for α / 2 in the negative z-table. Suppose we need to find the critical values that correspond to the significance level of 0.05. We’ll find the critical values for both a one- and two-tailed z-test.

STATISTICAL TABLES
A(z) is the integral of the standardized normal distribution from − ∞ to z (in other words, the area under the curve to the left of z). It gives the probability of a normal random variable not being more than z standard deviations above its mean. Values of z of particular importance:

This z-table (normal distribution table) shows the area to the right hand side of the curve. Use these values to find the area between z=0 and any positive value. For an area in a left tail, look at this left-tail z-table instead.
