It's a mostly straight forward system that frees you from all the rules of PZB but if you don't feel like learning two systems at once I'd suggest running some medium speed passenger services, those can be safely ran without LZB.

Oct 22, 2020 · Before releasing LZB, you should return the throttle and AFB (if on) to zero. You should then turn AFB off and back on again if you’re using it before setting an appropriate speed and increasing the throttle again.

LZB is a system for in-cab signalling and enforcement of maximum speeds and braking curves which is in widespread use in Germany and Austria. Any operation of trains above 160km/h in those countries is required to have either LZB or its successor, ETCS, enabled.
