The goal of this guide serves as an invaluable resource that creates a framework whereby all of our units and organizations can work independently to represent TSU in a consistent manner, while still maintaining their own unique identities.

Texas Southern University has achieved a reputation as a premiere institution of higher education. Reputation is specific to the name of Texas Southern University and is represented by the seal, trademarks, logos, and service marks used by the University.

The TSU Seal has the following features: The seal is concentric. A smaller circle is enclosed by a wider circle. A triangle is designed inside the narrower core circle. The seal has a golden – yellow background in the outer circle and maroon in the inner circle which represents the colors of the province of Tarlac.

The University Seal is the official representation of the university for legal and official purposes. Therefore, the use of the seal is limited to the Office of the President and official documents and contracts. The President’s Office grants permission for use of the seal.

TSU is the only four-year, state-supported university in Texas to offer a Pilot Ground School course and the first HBCU to implement a Maritime Transportation degree program. TSU's Science Building was built to advance scientific education and research. The building is cited as a gateway to the campus.
