TLR5 Signaling in the Regulation of Intestinal Mucosal Immunity
Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) is a pattern recognition receptor that specifically recognizes flagellin and consequently plays a crucial role in the control of intestinal homeostasis by activating innate and adaptive immune responses.
Physiological TLR5 expression in the intestine is regulated by ...
Jul 8, 2016 · Toll-like receptor 5 (TLR5) expression in the intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) is critical to maintain health, as underscored by multiple intestinal and extra-intestinal diseases in mice genetically engineered for IEC-specific TLR5 knockout.
Toll-like receptor 5 - Wikipedia
Toll-like receptor 5, also known as TLR5, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the TLR5 gene. [5] It is a member of the toll-like receptor (TLR) family. TLR5 is known to recognize bacterial flagellin from invading mobile bacteria. [6]
A Critical Role for MAPK Signalling Pathways in the Transcriptional ...
Feb 6, 2013 · With TLR4, all three MAPK components were equally important, with TLR21, JNK and ERK signalling were dominant, whereas with TLR5, JNK was most important. In contrast, R848-induced TLR7 mRNA down regulation was dependent upon p38 and to a …
Age-associated elevation in TLR5 leads to increased inflammatory ...
Nov 28, 2011 · Stimulation of TLR5 by flagellin is mediated through the signaling mediators MAPK p38 and ERK, which also were elevated in the monocytes of older compared with younger donors.
TLR5-derived, TIR-interacting decoy peptides to inhibit TLR signaling
May 3, 2023 · Our new study presents results of screening of TLR5 TIR-derived decoy peptides and characterizes new peptides that suppress TLR signaling. Cell-permeable peptides were screened for TLR5 inhibition using HEK-Blue ™ -mTLR5 Cells stably transfected with mouse TLR5 (InvivoGen, San Diego, CA).
Age-associated elevation in TLR5 leads to increased ... - PubMed
Using a multivariable mixed effect model, we report a highly significant increase in TLR5-induced production of IL-8 from monocytes of older individuals (P < 0.0001). Elevated IL-8 is accompanied by increased expression of TLR5, both protein and mRNA, and by increased levels of TLR5-mediated phosphorylation of MAPK p38 and ERK.
Luteolin downregulates TLR4, TLR5, NF-κB and p-p38MAPK ... - PubMed
Apr 11, 2012 · Luteolin protected the brain from the damage caused by pMCAO, and this effect may be through downregulation of TLR4, TLR5, NF-κB, p38MAPK and upregulation of ERK expression.
Physiological TLR5 expression in the intestine is regulated by ...
Apr 7, 2016 · We report a novel mechanism regulating Sp1/Sp3 swap at the TLR5 promoter, mediated through simultaneous modifications by dephosphorylation/ acetylation of Sp1 via PKC-dependent activation of serine/threonine (ser/thr) phosphatases and phosphorylation of Sp3 by PKC-δ-mediated ERK activation.
TLR5 Variants Are Associated with the Risk for COPD and NSCLC ...
Sep 9, 2022 · Functional analysis indicated that overexpression of the rs2072493_N592S allele affected the activation of NF-κB and AP-1, which could be attributed to impaired phosphorylation of p38 and ERK. Overexpression of TLR5 N592S was associated with increased chemosensitivity in the H1299 cell line.
