Oct 2, 2019 · What is the purpose of the ONT? Is it simply to convert the fibre to rj45 or does it do other tasks? The reason I ask, is I have read that you can put a switch after the ONT and have one port of the switch go to the T3200 and the other port from the switch to your own router.

May 2, 2020 · The original connection from the ONT > Ethernet > T3200 had the ethernet in WAN port on the T3200. You can't use a PiHole because your R7000 is not functioning as a router.

Mar 1, 2023 · First time with Telus for fibre. Ended up being given an ONT (fibre in, Ethernet out), then an NAH (basically my router + switch, I guess), and a separate device for WiFi. Why couldn't they just activate the SFP port on the NAH and have the NAH do the job of the ONT as well, like in this Telus video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s5BFIUF7SQw

The FXA5000 has a built-in ONT and a 10gbps LAN port on it. All that needs to be done is to have the SFP/fibre moved from the Nokia to the FXA5000, if the ONT is close by.

Aug 26, 2020 · Since the AX86U has a 2.5 Gbps WAN port, I was thinking that I should take advantage of that. Right now it goes: Fibre - Nokia ONT - T3200 - AX86U. My plan is: Fibre - Nokia ONT - Multigig Switch - AX86U (2.5Gbps)/T3200.

May 19, 2023 · The PureFibre X 3Gbps plan is delivered through XGSPON, not GPON. The optics will need to be upgraded to compatible hardware. This could be either an XGSPON SFP ONU or a standalone ONT with a 10Gb WAN port. The SFP ONU will not work the way your current setup is configured.
