A real mean machine from TEAC - the entry level player with real high end pretensions. So far so good - simple face plate, not too many buttons, nice alu decor, nice "elevator" style buttons with backlit, dimmable display, quite heavy box - looks much better than average players.

Dec 23, 2020 · I used to own the Teac VRDS 10 CDP - a great player. While owning this unit I investigated other Teac option, in particular their VRDS drive mechanisms. There were basically 4 versions of VRDS from relatively cheap to very costly.

The VRDS-T1 uses green-dyed modified polyphenylene oxide for its turntable, which has excellent dynamic balance and dimensional accuracy and is less susceptible to scattered light.

This product has been designed and manufactured according to FDA regulations “title 21, CFR, chapter 1, subchapter J, based on the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968”, and is classified as class 1 laser product.

Oct 20, 2009 · The Teac T1 sounds completely different: it is full, warm, solid, slightly dark and natural sounding. In fact, it reminds me a lot of how the Wadia transports sound. I’ve had several Wadia’s that used a similar transport and their sound has a lot in common with this Teac T1.

Feb 1, 2004 · The T1 uses the transport of the VRDS 8/9. This is a cost down of the transport used in the 10/20/25. Straight from the box the T1 sounds beter than a 10, don't ask me why, but the 8/9 and T1 show more mechanical failures.
