Tongyang Broadcasting Company was a South Korean commercial television station which was merged by the government with KBS. It was owned by the Samsung Group founder Lee Byung-chul and was a sister company to the JoongAng Ilbo .

The TBC network was shut down on November 30, 1980 after a law restricting press freedom in South Korea took place. The radio and television stations were handed over to the Korean Broadcasting System and the two TV stations in Seoul and Ulsan were used for KBS2 .
