The T-90 is a third-generation Russian main battle tank developed from, and designed to replace the T-72. It uses a 125 mm 2A46 smoothbore main gun, the 1A45T fire-control system, an upgraded engine, and gunner's thermal sight.

Cope cages are primarily used against drones, and various other shaped charges, they do work IRL. Both sides of the conflict use them and even the IDF has started using them. Is it a cope tank now?

Sep 14, 2024 · The T-90M features a new all-welded turret design protected by the Relikt ERA (Explosive Reactive Armour) armor fitted at the front and on each side of the turret. It features higher protection performance and serviceability compared with the Kontakt-5 ERA suite.

May 18, 2022 · ERA is designed to provide protection against tandem warheads, and reduce the likelihood of penetration from armor-piercing fin-stabilized discarding sabot (APFSDS) rounds. The T-90M also features rubber side skirts with additional armor plating; Cage armor, special netting; and spall lining are used to supplement the tank’s protection.

Jun 14, 2015 · The sides of the hull are now covered with the new Relikt ERA instead of the older and thinner variant of Kontakt 5 incase of T-90A. This greatly increased the hull protection, which in conflicts involving the older T-72, was easily penetrated. The rear part of the hull is covered with slat armor, to pre-detonate incoming rounds, especially RPGs.

6 days ago · The driver can only enter and exit through the lid under the observation window, and there is no bottom hatch. If the turret is not in the middle, it is difficult for the driver to climb out, and the Russian T90M tank does not have this shortcoming.

Like its predecessors, it is significantly lighter and smaller than NATO tanks of the 1980s and 1990s (which weigh between 62 and 74 tons, and are up to three meters tall, in the Leopard 2’s case).
