T57 Heavy Tank - Father of the T54E1 - Ground - Official Forum
Apr 6, 2025 · poll History The T57 program began in the early 1950s. The U.S. Ordinance Department was developing the then T43 heavy tank (to become the M103). With the French developing their autoloading tanks in the late 1940s and early 1950s, the United States wanted to test the viability of an oscillating turret designed tank with an autoloader. The Rheem Manufacturing Company built two turrets that ...
155mm Gun Tank T58 - "The Biggest Iron" - War Thunder
Jul 19, 2023 · The T58 was effectively an upscaled version of the 120mm Gun Tank T57. Both had oscillating turrets with an automatic loading system. Unlike the T57, however, the T58 used separated ammunition for its gun, and due to the nature of the 155mm ammunition, the automatic loading system was much different.
~7.7 heavy tanks desperately need a reload buff - War Thunder
Mar 3, 2024 · I feel like the 7.7 heavies (for the most part) are pretty balanced. incredibly potent in the downtier, but ok in the uptier. the IS-4M for example is a tank that is pretty much only really held back at 7.7 due to the reload (in regards to other heavies). Heavies are meta in sim and in squadron battles, I don’t really think they need a buff.
Paper Vehicles: Should they be added, or forgotten?
Apr 24, 2024 · you can still balance with asymetrical missions, uneven playerammounts per team etc. So an equal team has like the attaker need to capture 5 out of 6 capture points, for an inequal team, maybe 4, or all 6. Using production or service time as one thing, doesn’t mean you can’t balance with all other options, especially those, which Gaijin doesn’t explore atm.

Stop count the entire turret basket of the tank as part of the …
Mar 1, 2025 · In the dev server, the entire turret basket of the M1 series and Leopard 2 series has been counted as part of the horizontal drive. What kind of logic is this? The turret basket is merely an extension of the turret itself, and as can be seen from Gaijin’s modeling, it primarily consists of lightweight metal, serving as a non-load-bearing structure to …
VT-5 armour - General Discussion - Dev Server - War Thunder
Mar 12, 2025 · The VT-5 has absurdly thin armor in War Thunder, and the same issue appears with the Ariete main battle tank. I don’t understand why composite armor that’s nearly 500mm los can only provide 60mm of penetration resistance. A tank weighing over thirty tons can’t even withstand a 12.7mm heavy machine gun, which is utterly ridiculous. I think the developers are being arrogant; this is a ...
