The Honeywell T55 (formerly Lycoming; company designation LTC-4) is a turboshaft engine used on American helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft (in turboprop form) since the 1950s, and in unlimited hydroplanes since the 1980s.

Several decades and generations of development later, today’s T55 produces 5,000 SHP and powers the CH-47 Chinook to a maximum speed of 170 knots. The latest configuration T55-714C delivers 20% more power and uses 8% less fuel than its predecessor.

Honeywell's latest T55-GA-714A engine configuration produces nearly 5,000 shaft horsepower, powering Chinook aircraft up to 170 knots even in demanding operating conditions.

The 714C is a next-generation version of the battle-proven T55 engine family, which powers the U.S. Army’s Chinook heavy-lift helicopters and has accumulated more than 12 million flight hours around the globe.
