T-48 style made by Tapco in polymer, or regular non-bipod cut handguards. I have a Vltor CASV on order. Definitely the British pebble grained nylonite. Second place—the smooth Belgian three oval.

Feb 10, 2001 · They use a novel attachment at the aft ring. I've handled two sets and they look well. They are plastic, not wood, so don't be surprised that you won't have a T-48 look-alike. Are they non-bipod cut, or will they fit on a standard STG58 / G1 with the bipod installed? The T-48 did not use a bipod on the LB variant.

Aug 9, 2007 · Solution: replace the British handguard with one of the few handguards on the market that will fit both inch and metric rifles. This ended up being a Tapco T48 style handguard (the T48 was the main competition against the M14 during the rifle trials of pre-Vietnam days). The end result looks pretty cool.
