Can someone explain the differences between Sys Fan sockets and …
CPU fan-always needs to be plugged or computer won't boot properly, so CPU coolers/pumps go in there. Since you can control the fan speed, make sure that the pump speed is at 100% all the time (or sometimes lower if it makes sound) Pump Fan-for liquid coolers only, will run at 100% all the time, basically just for custom water cooling.
Cpu fan vs system fan - Tom's Hardware Forum
Nov 13, 2016 · Usually only at idle state the fan will lower its RPM, at light to max load the fan will spin at 100% RPM (so the operating system or apps determine CPU or GPU load, as it get certain temperature, it will signal the fan/water pump at XX speed).
[SOLVED] Fans running at full speed despite no apparent …
Oct 31, 2022 · Hi everyone! Since yesterday, all three of my case fans have been running constantly at full speed even when the CPU is idle and registering no temperatures above 30°C (see image). The motherboard utility I've been using to adjust fan speeds doesn't take effect anymore. From what I could gather...
[SOLVED] "SYS_FAN#" on Mobo has 4 Pins, Connector Cable Has 3 …
Jan 9, 2021 · Yes, you can connect 3-wire fans to the 4-pin header on the motherboard. Most modern boards have the option of either DC (3-wire) or PWM (4-wire) control. If your board doesn't have the option, the fan will simply run at full speed all the time. The header is 'keyed' so you can only plug it in using the correct set of pins.
System Fan Failure? - Tom's Hardware Forum
May 16, 2014 · IF 'Fan System Failure"' comes up on the screen, then the CPU Fan is faulty IF NO "Fan System Failure" message comes up on the screen THAT means The old power adapter was faulty before completely stopped working and the CPU Fan wasn't getting enough current and turning slowly, so therefore the computer was saying "Fan System Failure" on the screen.
FanControl not detecting controls for certain fans : r/gigabyte
Jan 10, 2022 · Hey all, I've been looking at using FanControl to well control my fan setup. However, I've noticed that it cannot detect any control for Sys_Fan4 as well as SYS_FAN5_PUMP and SYS_FAN6_PUMP. It's a shame as the software looks quite good, but I'd rather have everything running on it or nothing, rather than some through that software and …

Oct 10, 2021 · I've been getting this message for weeks now.The CPU fan,to which I think it refers, seems ok.According to Speedfan,it settles at around 500 rpm for most of the day,is quiet and keeps the CPU at or around 35 C.I replaced the CPU fan with another one to see if this got rid of the message, but on startup the replacement hit 4500 rpm and was VERY ...
System fan not spinning(?) - Tom's Hardware Forum
Jul 25, 2018 · The fan itself is a 3-pin and that System_Fan 3 is a 4 pin, but that shouldn't matter since some of the other System_Fans are 4 pins and they are connected by a 3-pin and they are functionally fine. I also did check the BIOS to see if the motherboard did …
[SOLVED] - CPU fan error 90B - No min fan speed - Tom's …
Dec 30, 2020 · I replaced the 4-pin cpu fan with an identical new one - no change. I removed the heatsink, cleaned out what little dust was there and reinstalled with fresh thermal paste - no change. I installed a couple of different monitoring progs, SpeedFan, HWInfo, etc and found that there is no minimum fan speed set for the cpu fan.
what's SYS_FAN4_PUMP : r/buildapc - Reddit
Dec 26, 2022 · It's system fan 4, alternatively it also functions as a pump header for something like a DDC or D5 watercooling pump. Basically it's just a software toggle to change how it's reading the motor- fans and watercooling pumps typically don't have the same number of poles in the motors, and that throws off speed readings.
