The TRY race is the perfect introduction to triathlon for beginners and those wanting to get a feel for what triathlon is all about. All very doable with a gentle downstream swim, easy cycle and short run. No tides, swells or waves (normally!)

The Swim leg of TriAthy takes place in the River Barrow at Athy Town Centre. The River Barrow is Ireland's second longest River. It rises in the Slieve Bloom mountains before travelling through the towns of Portarlington (Laois) and Monasterevin (Kildare) before reaching Athy. At Athy, the River Barrow is never more than 40m wide at any point.
